‘Zep’ means ‘Fly’ in Marathi! As the word suggests, we started with a mission to empower the women and the rural youth to take the ‘ZEP’ in their careers and lives.
Understanding the village lifestyle, Zep Foundation introduced a unique counselling concept. We counsel the grandparents and parents as they influence the choice of profession for the rural youth, especially the women.
Our mission to ‘empower women to fly’ and take that leap to being independent, encompasses contributing to skill development programs specific to the wellness industry and mother-child care.
Our Unique activities have received tremendous success and able to empower numerous village women by organising ‘Mahila Adhavde Bazar’ (The Women’s Weekly Market). This is organised only for the women providing them a platform to sell their homemade products.
This pioneering concept, a brainchild of Dr. Rekha Chaudhari has made a big difference in the lives of the rural women enabling them to generate money from their own skills. This unique concept has become the biggest attraction among the Bachat Gat (self-help groups) and also for consumers who patronise homemade products and artisan work.
ZEP has also organised skill Mahotsavs in rural India to create awareness for the wellness industry. At Zep Foundation, we aim to awaken the women to utilize their skills and enable them to select the right employment/entrepreneurial opportunities. Our contribution has strengthened the activities of the Ministry of Skill and Employment and NSDC. We have also been instrumental in allowing the schemes for women to reach its grassroots level.
